PATH Collective’s mission is to make peace profitable.
Today, we live in a ‘permanent war economy’, which makes preparing for nuclear war a very profitable business for a tiny elite of weapons manufacturers, politicians, and lobbyists. Meanwhile, all of humanity faces the threat of catastrophic nuclear war, and communities around the world suffer intergenerational harms caused by the manufacture and testing of nuclear weapons.
PATH Collective’s aim is to help invert the war economy by making peace profitable. We leverage Web3 technologies, with their unique ability to distribute power and financial agency more equitably, and to create financial incentives for cooperation.
Our vision is to co-create a peace economy, in which governance systems and financial incentives are optimised for cooperation instead of competition, and digital natives have viable career pathways working to confront the critical challenges confronting all of us, like the climate crisis.
PATH Collective is a collaboration between Danielle McLaughlin and Lyndon Burford. We combine expertise in nuclear weapons policy, Web3, systems-approaches to complex challenges, and legal approaches to confronting nuclear threats and harms.
